TAHA SALIM
Remnants of War, Migration Love
A POETRY COLLECTION
In Remnants of War, Migration, Love, Taha Salim explores the inner conflict of identity and survival. These themes act as a driving force, propelling the reader forward through sharp upheavals in a life defined by conflict and war.
His work delves into how one’s experiences of a homeland, war, migration, love, fear and faith can shape one’s character. As the poet reflects on the challenges of rebuilding a life, he poses the poignant question: can one ever truly move on from what has happened, or do these remnants linger forever?
These are poems that are written from the heart, invocations to be read, re-read and shared aloud.

Taha Salim
Taha Salim is a poet and writer, born in 1994 and raised in Najaf, Iraq, during a time of conflict and siege. His work delves into themes of love, identity, homeland, migration, and the devastating impact of war.
In 2003, aged nine, when the US invasion of Iraq began, Taha experienced a moment that would change his life forever — having a machine gun pointed at his forehead for the first time by an American soldier. This tragic encounter was the first of many events that fuelled his passion to fight against war through his writing.
